The Orrin R. Findley-William & Betty Lute Scholarship Fund

In 1985 the Lorain County Retired Teachers Association awarded the first Orrin R. Findley Scholarship.  Currently, as a result of yearly voluntary contributions by members, LORCORTA is able to give awards to college-bound high school graduates.  These Lorain County graduates must be the children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews of present or former Lorain County educators.

Congratulations to the 2022 recipients:  Clara Anderson, a 2022 graduate of Midview High School who will be attending Kent State majoring in nursing; Danielle Dudziak, a 2022 graduate of Amherst Steel High School who will attend the University of Wisconsin majoring in mathematics and chemistry; Kaylin Hauck, a 2022 graduate of Avon High School who will attend Case Western University majoring in biology and chemistry; Sofia Marino, a 2022 graduate of Avon High School who will attend to the Ohio State University studying computer science; Reid Opel, a graduate of Amherst Steele High School who will be attending Ashland University majoring in math; and Emma Osko, a 2022 graduate of Avon High School who will attend the College of Wooster majoring in environmental science.
