The Mary Elizabeth Keller Scholarship Fund

Mary Elizabeth Keller, a local retired teacher, funded a scholarship which has been named in her honor and is administered by LORCORTA.  These scholarships are available to any resident of Lorain County who is pursuing a career in education with preference given to those in their junior or senior year of college.

Congratulations to the 2022 recipients:  Jenna Calfo, a 2020 graduate of Wellington High School who will be a junior at Ashland University majoring in Pre-K-5 primary grades education and primary intervention specialist Pre-K-5; Victoria Jackson, a 2020 Oberlin High School graduate who will be a senior at Hiram college majoring in Pre-K primary grades education; Cassidy Kamms, a graduate of Columbia High School in 2020 attending Ashland University majoring in Pre-K-5 primary grade education; Abigail Smith, a 2021 graduate of Amherst Steele High School attending Ashland University in Pre-K-5 special education; Connor Sweeten, a 2019 Elyria High School graduate attending Ashland University majoring in early childhood education and intervention specialist; and Megan Witt, a 2020 graduate of Midview High School pursuing Pre-K-5 primary grade education at Ashland University.
